FAQ
What is United Arts Collier?
United Arts Collier (UAC) is the official heart of creativity for every person who lives, works, or visits Collier County.
Our History and Role
Furthermore, we are the State of Florida’s designated Local Arts Agency for Collier County.
In addition, we function as the central arts umbrella — much like a chamber of commerce for the arts — connecting visual, performing, literary, culinary, and all other creative disciplines with the communities that need them most.
For example, since our founding in 1980 and official recognition as the Local Arts Agency in 1984, we have grown into a trusted 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Consequently, under CEO Elysia Dawn — a Naples native with international arts leadership experience — we refreshed our identity with the powerful promise: All the Arts for All of Collier.
The Programs That Touch Every Life
Moreover, our reach extends across every age, ability, and background.
Through these efforts, we provide free arts education to approximately 2,500 at-risk youth each year.
In turn, we also deliver free classes and art therapy for seniors living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, veterans, and anyone who might otherwise miss these opportunities.
Additionally, we preserve our county’s cultural heritage through the Collier Arts Archives project with Florida Humanities and produce vibrant public events such as the Seaside Soirée and the inaugural Naples International Dance Festival on May 11, 2026.
The Real Impact on Collier County
For instance, arts experiences in our region generate real economic power.
As a result, attendees spend an average of $31 to $48 per person beyond ticket costs on dining, lodging, and parking — turning every exhibition or performance into a boost for local businesses.
Therefore, our weekly Best Bets newsletter now reaches more than 5,000 subscribers, while our county-wide arts calendar helps thousands discover events in real time.
Ultimately, we also advocate for stronger arts funding, more public art, and greater arts education in schools because creativity improves health, education, safety, and quality of life across the entire community.
How We Make It All Possible
Meanwhile, none of this work happens in isolation.
On the contrary, we rely on a strong partnership of individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and state support.
Hence, as a 501(c)(3) charity, every gift directly fuels free or low-cost programs that serve thousands of Collier County residents every year.

Supporting Youth, Seniors, Veterans & Families
Moreover, your gifts help us deliver free arts education to approximately 2,500 at-risk youth each year.

In turn, families across Collier County gain access to programs they might otherwise never experience — building confidence, creativity, and connection in the process.
Therefore, every contribution creates ripple effects that strengthen entire households and neighborhoods.
Preserving Heritage & Bringing People Together Through Events
Additionally, we use donations to protect Collier County’s cultural story through the Collier Arts Archives project, developed in partnership with Florida Humanities.
On top of that, we produce joyful community gatherings such as the Seaside Soirée and the brand-new Naples International Dance Festival launching on May 11, 2026.
As a result, residents and visitors alike have more reasons to celebrate, connect, and fall in love with the arts right here at home.
Hence, your support doesn’t just fund programs — it builds lasting memories and community pride.
The Real Economic Power of the Arts in Collier County
Furthermore, when you give, you’re also investing in our local economy.
For instance, arts attendees in our region typically spend between $31 and $48 per person on meals, lodging, and parking beyond their tickets.
Consequently, every exhibition, performance, and workshop you help make possible generates real economic activity for restaurants, hotels, and small businesses throughout Naples and Collier County.
Ultimately, the arts are not just beautiful — they are powerful drivers of tourism and prosperity.

A True Umbrella for All the Arts in Collier County
United Arts Collier serves as the official Local Arts Agency for Collier County, acting as a central hub that connects artists, organizations, and residents across every artistic discipline.
Furthermore, we bring together visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, culinary arts, and more so that creativity can flourish in every neighborhood from Naples to Immokalee.
In addition, because we operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we focus on access and inclusion rather than profit — ensuring that the arts remain available to people of all ages, abilities, and economic backgrounds.
For example, whether someone is a professional artist, a student, a senior, or a first-time visitor, United Arts Collier creates pathways for meaningful engagement.
Free Arts Education That Changes Young Lives
Moreover, one of our core commitments is providing free arts education to approximately 2,500 at-risk youth each year.
Consequently, children who might otherwise have limited access to creative opportunities gain confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging through our programs.
In turn, these experiences often lead to better academic performance, improved emotional well-being, and stronger connections with their communities.
Healing Through Art for Seniors and Veterans
Additionally, we offer specialized art therapy programs designed for seniors living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
As a result, these classes provide not only creative expression but also moments of joy, memory stimulation, and social connection.
On top of that, United Arts Collier proudly supports veterans with free artist memberships and dedicated programming that honors their service while helping them process experiences through art.
Preserving Collier County’s Cultural Heritage
Furthermore, we are deeply committed to protecting and sharing our county’s artistic history through the Collier Arts Archives project, developed in close partnership with Florida Humanities.
In addition, this initiative documents stories, artworks, and cultural milestones that might otherwise be lost over time.
For instance, through oral histories, exhibitions, and digital resources, we ensure that future generations understand the rich creative legacy of Collier County.
Consequently, the archives serve as both a living record and an inspiration for new artistic endeavors.
Vibrant Events That Bring Our Community Together
Moreover, United Arts Collier produces and supports landmark events that celebrate the arts year-round.
For example, the annual Seaside Soirée at Seagate Beach Club combines live music, art-making, culinary experiences, and stunning Gulf views to create unforgettable evenings.
In turn, the upcoming Naples International Dance Festival on May 11, 2026 will mark an exciting new chapter, bringing world-class dance to our local stages while showcasing regional talent.
Therefore, these events do more than entertain — they strengthen community bonds and boost local tourism.
Supporting Artists at Every Stage of Their Journey
As a result, local creators gain visibility, sell work, and connect with collectors, galleries, and fellow artists.
On the other hand, we also help artists navigate the business side of their practice through workshops and mentorship.
Hence, United Arts Collier functions as both a creative home and a launchpad for artistic careers in Collier County.
Advocacy That Strengthens the Entire Arts Ecosystem
In addition, we produce economic impact studies that demonstrate how the arts generate jobs, tourism revenue, and community vitality.
For instance, arts attendees in our region typically spend between $31 and $48 per person on dining, lodging, and parking beyond event tickets — proving that creativity is also an economic engine.
Consequently, our advocacy work helps policymakers and business leaders understand why investing in the arts benefits everyone in Collier County.
How Leadership and Partnerships Drive Our Mission
Moreover, under the guidance of CEO Elysia Dawn — a Naples native with extensive international arts experience — United Arts Collier has refreshed its vision while staying true to its founding purpose.
In turn, we collaborate with schools, libraries, healthcare providers, cultural organizations, and civic groups to maximize our reach and impact.
Therefore, our partnerships allow us to serve more people more effectively than any single organization could achieve alone.
