Abel Garcia

Artist Bio:

New to the Naples, Florida art scene, fine artist, Abel Garcia, has been disrupting the art world for over ten years in Dallas, Texas and his hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico and beyond. His urban style marries graffiti inspired elements and traditional art concepts. This juxtaposition stems from learning art from both traditional classes at New Mexico State University where he holds degrees in Art History, Illustration and Graphic Design, among others, and his experience honing his craft throughout his life and working with multiple artistic mentors active in high fashion, music, graffiti, design and more. He uses a unique layering technique on his large scale paintings, murals and live artwork with mediums such as acrylic paint, graffiti markers and spray paint. His over-the-top energy, love of color, and his cultural roots come through in each piece.

Clients such as Dallas Cowboys players Emmitt Smith, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot, and Jay Novacek, "Air Jordan" designer, Justin Taylor, The Dallas Mavericks, FC Dallas, Toyota Connect, Jack Daniels, professional boxer, Austin Trout, UFC fighter Ocho Peterson, and many more have pieces of Abel's work. Istanbul based “Argos Fragrance” CEO, Christian Petrovich, also partnered with Abel on a sold out solo art show in 2023. As a favorite of several interior designers, Abel's paintings can be found in luxury high rises across Texas from Dallas to Austin such as the W Hotel Dallas Residencies, Plaza Saltio and 12 Cowboys Way. His murals can be viewed in Irving, Austin, and several neighborhoods in Dallas and he has shown in Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, Las Cruces, and New York City. He was recently named Austin's "Visual Artist of the Year".  He was also honored to be selected as the recent recipient of the 2022-2023 Don Julio Tequila “Por Amor” grant for exemplifying passion and love for his culture through his craft.

Abel places great importance on giving back to his community and in Naples, Florida, Dallas, Texas and his hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico he has partnered with several charity and non-profit organizations such as Cancer Alliance Network, The Warren Center, The Birthday Party Project, Operation Rock the Troops, The John Paul Taylor Center, Jardin de los Ninos, the Tortugas Pueblo Indians, the Dona Ana Arts Council, The MVP (Merging Vets and Players) Foundation, and many more to help raise money for these organizations through his artwork.
