Works by Naples artist Jerry Vallez will be showing at the Norris Center Gallery in Cambier Park in downtown Naples from February 1 to March 15, 2023 with an opening reception on Friday, February 3 from 5 – 7 PM.   Jerry Vallez opened his first studio in Naples in 1971 after moving south from Highland Park, Illinois, looking for warmer weather and a new adventure. The studio was located next to the City Dock in Crayton Cove. He changed locations several times but stayed within a mile of Crayton Cove over the next 40 years. Jerry was a pioneer of the local art community, and a fixture of the Naples art scene till his passing in 2012. Images of Naples are his signature works, including – of course – the Pier at various stages in its history.  He painted seascapes and marine subjects wherever he encountered them. Summer stays in Door County, along with travels to New England, Nova Scotia, the Caribbean, and France provided him with a rich variety of subject matter. The pieces on display at the Norris Center will include original paintings and limited-edition lithographs and giclées.
