Event Jazz History Louis Armstrong: His Life and Legacy Artis—Naples Lifelong Learning Charles Bergeron, Ph.D., Professor of Jazz History and Program Director for Jazz Pedagogy at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music This lecture will offer a detailed look into the life and career of America’s most important and influential jazz artist. From his upbringing in New Orleans to his place as America’s great cultural ambassador, Bergeron explores the early influences that shaped the life of Louis Armstrong and the legacy he created for America’s indigenous art form. This presentation is part of Charles Bergeron’s Jazz History series.
