Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch
The Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch is a living history museum in Immokalee, Florida, offering a glimpse into Southwest Florida’s pioneer past. Originally the home of cattleman Robert Roberts, this 13-15 acre site (the longest-running ranch in South Florida) preserves the stories of early settlers, cow hunters, ranchers, and Indigenous communities like the Calusa, Seminole, and Miccosukee who shaped the region since its settlement in 1873. The town of Immokalee, meaning “my home” in Seminole, was renamed by pioneers in 1897. The museum features 15-19 carefully preserved original buildings from the early 1900s, exhibits on homestead life, citrus groves, and cattle ranching, plus interactive programs. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of the Collier County Museums system (one of five free museums in the county). A highlight is the annual Immokalee Cattle Drive and Jamboree in March, recreating historic cattle drives.
